What Are Dental Veneers?
—
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells, typically crafted from porcelain, that bond to the front surface of your teeth to improve their appearance. Made to closely mimic the look of natural enamel, veneers offer a cosmetic alternative to more invasive procedures while still delivering a dramatic transformation.
What Veneers Can Fix
—
- Stained or Discolored Teeth — Cover deep stains and discoloration that don't respond well to whitening treatments alone.
- Chipped or Worn Teeth — Restore the look of teeth affected by wear, minor cracks, or small fractures.
- Gaps & Minor Misalignment — Close small gaps and improve the appearance of uneven spacing without orthodontic treatment.
- Uneven Shape or Size — Create a more balanced, symmetrical smile by adjusting the appearance of irregularly shaped teeth.
The Veneer Process
—
1. Consultation & Smile Design — We'll examine your teeth, discuss your goals, and take X-rays, impressions, or digital scans to plan veneers that match your desired look.
2. Tooth Preparation — A small amount of enamel, typically less than a millimeter, is gently removed from the front of each tooth to make room for the veneer and ensure a natural fit.
3. Custom Fabrication — Your veneers are crafted in a dental lab to match the shape, size, and shade of your surrounding teeth. This usually takes one to two weeks, during which temporary veneers may be placed.
4. Placement & Bonding — Once ready, your custom veneers are checked for fit and appearance, then permanently bonded to your teeth for a natural, long-lasting result.
