The school year's start date is drawing near, yet there are still a lot of uncertainties about when and how they will begin. Are children of various ages expected to attend schools? In the hybrid model in most jurisdictions, it can be expected that students will alternate between days they attend classes, with only a maximum of 15 students in a class at any given time, and distance learning. School boards would allow for a day to be free of students to deep clean the building and have the rest of the school week alternate between groups of students.
The Ministry of Education has approved regional school boards' finalized calendars for the 2020-21 school term: students will begin class on September 8, 2020 and the last day of school will be June 29, 2021.
